MEDecision's health decision support service,
Nexalign® is a set of enabling technologies - including
decision support, analytics, health information exchange (HIE) and
identity reconciliation - designed to gather health data from
multiple sources (healthcare payers, patients, physicians and other
care providers) and apply analytics to it to foster better business
and clinical decisions on a patient's behalf.
Nexalign provides the infrastructure for MEDecision's
analytics processing and decision support capabilities, which
require event-driven data from multiple sources across the
enterprise. It enables MEDecision to securely gather electronic
medical record, lab, pharmacy and other clinical information from
multiple entities using standards that Integrating the Healthcare
Enterprise (IHE) has established for exchanging information among
patients, providers and payers. (IHE is an organization that the
health information technology industry has created to ensure the
seamless data interchange between medical information
systems.)
After collecting electronic data, Nexalign applies evidence
based analytics that identify treatment opportunities and recommend
clinical best practices. This information is then delivered back to
stakeholders to facilitate timely and thoughtful decisions on the
patient's behalf. As a result, Nexalign fosters accurate and
appropriate care while helping to maintain costs.
Nexalign provides the following components:
- Analytics
Enables the identification and stratification of target members,
patients and populations through NCQA-certified clinical
intelligence rules to set appropriate levels of intervention and
improvements for a member's care according to evidence-based
medicine and best practices.
- Health Information
Exchange
Collects and delivers electronic medical information - including
diagnostic-quality imaging - from disparate sources in a
platform-agnostic format.
- Identity Reconciliation
Identifies and links an individual patient's disparate clinical
records from across multiple systems or locations to help ensure
the right patient information is associated with the right
patient.
- Clinical Summaries
Presents clinically validated electronic health records derived
from claims and care management data.
- Clinical Data Repository
Provides locations for storing data during the publication process
where outside entities can retrieve it. Nexalign supports multiple
repositories for federated or hybrid architectures.
